Brief on Product: Delfos Onion Seeds.

• These Onion seeds yield a variety of onion that appears as a globular bulb, and are slightly pointed towards the neck. They do have copper coloured exterior, with white coloured sweet dense from inside. They are considered to be an excellent quality for canning purposes. Sow these Onion seeds directly to the field or even in the nursery. But necessary transplant is required, with 40cm in a row and 15 cm apart between each plant. Using fertilizer could be considered but with a mixture of 1-2-2 composition.

Onion Seeds are easy to sown. 

• They could survive well in presence of partial sunlight, but their growth thrives when kept in location where it could get full sunlight. Generally, Onions don’t require consistent watering. Water must only be applied enough to keep their soil moist, after checking their topsoil (2.5 – 5 cm) dryness. The soil on which they are supposed to be planted must be well-drained, sandy or loamy. To sight their healthy growth, ideally the temperature must be around 16 to 26 degree Celsius. And in terms of feeding, use fertilizers containing nitrogen contents. 

It’s a widely grown vegetable crop.

• Onions are mainly grown for their culinary purposes. They are very useful in various cuisines around the world. From its parts like young and dried leaves, bulbs, and even flowers are consumed in raw fresh or in cooked forms. They are also used in salads, pickles and various curries. Onions also got some medicinal uses too, such as in fields of Ayurveda, they could come in uses to treat cholera, dysentery, coughs, colds and even in managing cholesterol.

• Even if consumed in a minor range, either in raw or in a cooked form, they are poisonous to dogs and cats. Therefore, it’s not safe to plant them nearby your pets especially.
