Rhipsalis baccifera is a perfect indoor ornamental plant.
- These plants are tropical succulents coming from native to rainforest regions of Florida, Mexico and Brazil. Commonly they are known as Mistletoe cactus. Rhipsalis baccifera are characterized as an epiphytic cactus that appears with a pendant, narrow, pale green stems. And these stems are in cylindrical shape with a diameter up to 0.5 cm. Initially these are bristle but then it turns to be very smooth. Rhipsalis baccifera also consist of long-lasting blossoms that appear sporadically with the best flushes at mid of spring and then again in late summer.
Rhipsalis baccifera are easy to care for.
- For growth they require shade to partial shade, and unlike other cacti, which are generally found in hot, sunny zones Mistletoe Cactus has a unique requirement for moisture and dim light. Water them only when the soil mix seems dry and even during repotting. And the soil mix, on which they are supposed to be planted must be well-drained, sandy and bit moisty. To ensure its healthy growth, ideal temperature must be at least 15 degree Celsius with periodical light flatters during day time. And in terms of feeding, use mixed organic fertilizer once a month.
